On this, the twenty-fourth anniversary of the cowardice and murderous attacks on our Country on September 11th, 2001, our hearts and prayers are with the families and friends of those whose lives were lost, as well as those survivors who continue to suffer physical or related trauma. WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER!
God Bless you all, and for those who have made the supreme sacrifice, may they all Rest In Peace….
Firefighter's Prayer
When I am called to duty, God wherever flames may rage, give me strength to save a life, whatever be its age.
Help me to embrace a little child before it's too late, or save an older person from the horror of that fate.
Enable me to be alert to hear the weakest shout, and quickly and efficiently to put the fire out.
I want to fill my calling and to give the best in me, to guard my neighbor and protect his property.
And if according to your will I have to lose my life, bless with your protecting hand my loving family from strife.
Be safe and NEVER FORGET!

Narrative:
In a massive coordinated terrorist attack 19 men hijacked 4 jetliners on the morning of September 11. The hijackers were on a suicide mission and had received orders to take over control of the aircraft and to fly the planes into specified targets.
United Airlines Flight 175 departed Boston-Logan for Los Angeles at 08:14. The aircraft was hijacked by five terrorists. The hijackers took over control, reportedly switched off the transponder and changed course to New York. At 09:03 the aircraft was flown into the Southeast side of the 110-story New York WTC South tower in a sharp left wing low attitude, crashed and exploded into the 78th through 84th floors. According to an FAA study, N612UA struck the WTC at a speed of 586 mph; an MIT study however determined the plane was probably traveling at 537 mph.
The massive fire weakened the tower structure on these floors and the tower collapsed at 09:59. Most of the office workers below the 78th floor were able to evacuate the tower on time before the collapse. Seventeen minutes before Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower, the WTC North Tower had been hit by an American Airlines Boeing 767, N334AA.
A total of 2,606 people were killed in the World Trade Center buildings, including about 292 on the ground. A precise breakdown of the number casualties relating to Flight 11 (North Tower) and Flight 175 (South Tower) is impossible.
It has been estimated that about 1600 people were killed on the North Tower, and about 900 on the South Tower.

Crop duster plane crashes in Dover, no injuries reported

DOVER, Del. - The FAA is currently investigating an agricultural plane crash near Dover on Tuesday afternoon.
Just before 4:15 p.m. on Sept. 9, Delaware State Police announced they had been dispatched to the scene of a plane crash on Kruser Boulevard near Silver Leaf Lane. Police said power lines were down at the scene but reported no one appeared to be injured.
On Wednesday, the Leipsic Volunteer Fire Company confirmed they were also on the scene on Tuesday, along with multiple other local fire companies. The crash occurred near the Chandelle Airport, according to firefighters.
Crews reported finding a plane down with a fuel leak. A fire sparked in the crash was reportedly extinguished by bystanders, according to the fire company, and the pilot luckily did not need to be taken to the hospital.
DNREC was overseeing the fuel cleanup, the Leipsic Vol. Fire Company said.
The FAA is currently investigating, with their initial description of the incident reading that the aircraft struck power lines and crashed in a wooded area.

NTSB Prelim: Jabiru Aircraft Pty LTD J230-D
This Was The Second Flight After Completion Of The Repairs
Location: Oak Island, NC Accident Number: ERA25LA289
Date & Time: August 2, 2025, 19:25 Local Registration: N784J
Aircraft: Jabiru Aircraft Pty LTD J230-D Injuries: 1 Minor
Flight Conducted Under: Part 91: General aviation - Personal
On August 2, 2025, about 1925 eastern daylight time, a Jabiru Aircraft Pty Ltd J-230-D, N784J, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Oak Island, North Carolina. The private pilot received minor injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight.
According to the pilot, the airplane had recently undergone lengthy maintenance, and this was the second flight after completion of the repairs. The pilot reported that there were no anomalies noted during the preflight inspection and that the airplane operated normally during startup, taxi, engine runup, and takeoff. During the climb out, the pilot reported the airplane developed momentary “blips” in reduction of engine power that would last less than a second.
The pilot stated that he had experienced these momentary drops in power before, but they had always stopped after leveling off the airplane. The pilot leveled off the airplane; however, the momentary power drops continued, and the pilot decided to return to the airport. While over the water, the pilot turned onto the final approach leg to the runway, and the engine began to lose power. The pilot attempted to restore engine power by adjusting throttle settings, turning on the fuel pump, as well as the carburetor heat; however, the engine continued to lose power.
The pilot reported that while at 1,400 ft mean sea level and still over the water, he realized he would not reach the airport and that the nearby beach was too crowded with people to make a safe emergency landing. The pilot elected to ditch the airplane into the water near the beach. While lining up for the forced ditching, the engine completely lost power, and the propeller stopped rotating. During the forced ditching, the airplane’s main landing gear impacted the water first, and shortly after, the airplane nosed over into the water. After impact, the airplane began to sink, and the pilot was extricated through the broken windshield by nearby first responders. A postaccident examination of the wreckage revealed the airplane sustained substantial damage to the fuselage and both wings.
The wreckage was retained for further examination.
