Hours after a private aircraft crashed in Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad on Thursday morning after it lost control shortly after taking off, private jet service provider Jet Service Aviation (JSA) issued a clarification rejecting certain media reports around the incident as "inconsistent" with the facts. It said that inclement weather and not pilot error or a technical glitch were responsible for the crash.
"Some media reports regarding the mini-jet incident at the Farrukhabad airstrip are inconsistent with the facts. This incident was not caused by pilot error or a technical malfunction of the aircraft, but by the extremely poor, uneven, and unsafe condition of the runway," a statement issued by JSA said.
It added that the Farrukhabad airstrip is an uncontrolled airport, where the runway condition does not comply with aviation safety standards. Luckily, the two pilots and passengers escaped unhurt in the incident.
"The entire runway is littered with stones and gravel, which affected the grip and control of the aircraft's wheels. The runway is uneven and uneven in many places, which affected the aircraft's control".
The private company called on the concerned authorities to immediately repair, level, and clean the runway to prevent similar incidents in the future.
"This clarification is being issued with the aim of making the correct facts public and preventing the spread of misinformation," it added.
According to district officials, the aircraft belonging to Jet Service Aviation Pvt Ltd, with the registration number VT-DEZ, lost control while taking off and veered off the Mohammadabad airstrip into nearby bushes at around 10.30 am.

Narrative:
A Tarom Ilyushin Il-14 broke in flight in poor weather while en route and crashed near Sibiu, Romania, killing all 31 occupants.
The airplane operated on a domestic flight from Timisoara (TSR) to Bucharest-Baneasa (BBU). A powerful storm was affecting most of the airspace of Romania that day. The plane could not land in Bucharest and was diverted to Craiova (CRA). It was re-directed to the north of the country, and contact was lost after the plane crossed a mountain range.
The scatter of the debris indicated that the plane disintegrated before hitting the ground.
The inquiry committee concluded that the airplane had encountered a strong downdraught. The pilot's attempt to maintain attitude caused the fuselage to overstress. The airplane disintegrated.
