Small plane makes emergency landing on Ga. golf course
SAVANNAH, Ga. - No one was injured when a
small civilian aircraft made an emergency landing at a golf course Thursday night, according to authorities.
First responders from several Savannah agencies responded to the Bacon Park Golf Course Thursday night after reports of an aircraft deploying parachutes and landing at the course.
Savannah police confirmed there were two people inside the craft who were uninjured. Chuck Kearns with Chatham County Emergency Services said the passengers refused being taken to a hospital.
Authorities said the aircraft deployed a parachute before making the emergency landing.
IAFF Local 574 reports wreckage has been located in the area of the Bacon Park golf course.
“My district chief has indicated that because the airplane used its parachute, both of the patients refused transport to the hospital, saying they had no injuries.” from Chuck Kearns with Chatham County Emergency Services.
The course is owned by O.C. Welch. He confirms a plane crashed on the course near the first hole.
